Debian GNU 2.2
Kernel 2.4.20 on an AMD Duron

Welcome to Eric the BBS. (yeah yeah, it's still called Eric :)
This is (probably) the last of a long line of BBSes I've run. (if you're
really curious about the history of this place, type history once logged in)
There's no doubt some features missing/bugs to be fixed, let me
know if there's something particulary annoying and I'll see if I can
fix it.

Greg

I just wish someone would release an affordable TIVO-like device without
having to subscribe to a service. I'd just like a box with a hard drive
that lets me use it like a regular VCR. Yeah, you can use your computer
- build your own mini-ATX box - but I'm not into that, and it's expensive.

PS: Saw one with a DVD recorder, way too expensive though. And not very
reliable from what I hear. I think it's a Panasonic...

Hey there Siu - yes, you should call more than once a year. I keep calling
your dial-up BBS just to keep the old skill sets alive- though some day
I really should revive the 300 baud acoustic coupler and hook it up to
the Televideo 920 terminal.

I've been watching my brother-in-law's satellite TV for the last several
days...you know, I'm amazed anyone records anything. I'm sure not jumping
up and down to get a dish; I'd rather spend the money on DVDs every month.
It'd be different if I was a big sports buff, I suppose.

Let me know when a good time would be to pop in for an unexpected visit..

Could it be? The Flexible one? Mr. S*** S*****? Ex-guitar wank from
Black Sunday (with Pud on vocals, Chromedick on bass, your south-end rich-ki
d drum machine on drums)...?

Welcome back!

I find it entirely funny, for some strange reason, that your sister gets
DSL before you do.

Is it even possible out there?

Hi Greg,

I can piggyback the forum onto one of our "old" Quad Xeons that is already
running mySQL for other database projects. I forget what the app is running.
Some free forum of one sort or another..

This summer has filled my time, but I am dedicated to putting something
of decent quality together within the next six months (I figure, it has
been 20 odd years so a few more months won't kill it!).

I'll keep coming back on an irregular basis, so I'll keep you and everyone
informed as to what I've put together as I do.

Thanks for your support!

Yep....I'm still on dial-up. My sister across the street has DSL - my
sister around the corner has DSL - my sister around the corner and down
the street has DSL - my brother has Shaw Cable Internet Lite - but he's
the maverick. I wonder if my cousin has DSL?

Yes, we can get high speed here but I'm just too darn cheap.
